LEAD-UP ACADEMY LAUNCHES THE “90-SECOND PRACTICAL MANAGEMENT” VIDEO SERIES

In the context of a continuously changing business environment, rapid technological advancement, and an increasingly diverse workforce, managers are required not only to possess strong professional expertise, but also to lead people effectively, manage performance, handle pressure, and adapt to new ways of working.

In response to these realities, Lead-UP Academy officially launched the “90-Second Practical Management” video series in mid-July 2026. This project delivers concise content focused on common situations encountered by managers in the course of business operations. The program was developed from an initiative by the Lead-UP Academy R&D Team, produced by the Media Team, and supported throughout by Consulting and Training Expert Phạm Tô Hoài – Founder of Lead-UP Practical Management Academy.

From Real-World Challenges to Immediately Applicable Actions

The “90-Second Practical Management” series is not designed around lengthy theoretical presentations or overly complex management models. Each video begins with a specific issue that managers may encounter in their daily work, such as:

• Why might a highly competent professional struggle after being promoted to a management position?

• Why can a manager remain busy from morning until evening while team performance still fails to improve?

• Is Gen Z genuinely difficult to manage, or have existing management approaches become outdated?

• Do employees resign because of company policies or because of their experience with their direct manager?

• How should managers provide feedback, empower employees, and create motivation?

• How will AI transform the role of managers?

Through a concise and direct approach, each video is designed to achieve three objectives:

• Help viewers identify the true nature of the issue.

• Analyze its causes from a management perspective.

• Recommend specific actions that can be applied immediately in the workplace.

The Integration of Research, Professional Expertise, and Media

The series is the result of collaboration among the professional teams at Lead-UP Academy.

The R&D Team is responsible for conducting research, selecting topics, analyzing prominent issues in business management, and developing a coherent content structure for the entire program.

Expert Phạm Tô Hoài is directly involved in providing professional direction, analyzing situations, and translating management concepts into practical recommendations aligned with the operational context of businesses.

The Lead-UP Academy Media Team is responsible for developing visual scripts, filming, post-production, and distributing the content across digital platforms.

This combination enables each video to remain concise in duration while still ensuring systematic structure, professional depth, and practical applicability.

Introducing the Five Stages of the “90-Second Practical Management” Series

The “90-Second Practical Management” video series is structured into five stages, corresponding to the key capability areas that managers need to develop in the current context.

Stage 1: Decoding the Managerial Role

The first stage focuses on clarifying the transition from being a professional specialist to assuming a management role.

The content addresses several common paradoxes:

• Strong professional expertise does not necessarily translate into strong management capability.

• The more tasks managers take on themselves, the more dependent their teams may become.

• Being busy does not necessarily mean being effective.

• A manager’s results no longer depend solely on what they personally accomplish, but also on their ability to enable others to complete their work.

This stage helps viewers accurately understand the role, responsibilities, and core value of a management position within an organization.

Stage 2: Leading the Emerging Workforce

The workforce is changing in terms of generations, career expectations, communication styles, and approaches to work.

Stage 2 focuses on topics such as:

• Managing Gen Z and a multigenerational workforce.

• Motivating younger employees.

• Clarifying the question “What’s in it for me?” when assigning work.

• Empowering employees without relinquishing managerial control.

• Developing employees rather than merely controlling their work.

• Identifying turnover risks and retaining capable employees.

The central message of this stage is that generational differences do not automatically make employees difficult to manage. What matters is the manager’s ability to adjust their leadership approach to suit the new context.

Stage 3: Managing Performance and Business Pressure

Managers constantly operate between the demand for results and the limitations of their team’s resources.

Stage 3 analyzes common issues in performance management:

• Translating business objectives into specific assignments.

• Assigning work clearly and establishing performance standards.

• Allocating resources and workload appropriately.

• Monitoring progress without falling into micromanagement.

• Managing pressure related to sales targets, deadlines, and quality.

• Helping teams sustain performance during periods of volatility.

The focus of this stage is not simply to require employees to work harder, but to help teams concentrate on the right tasks, prioritize effectively, and use resources more efficiently.

Stage 4: Engagement, Feedback, and Corporate Culture

Corporate culture is not created solely through slogans or formally declared value systems. It is shaped through the repeated daily behaviors of managers.

The videos in Stage 4 focus on:

• Building trust within the team.

• Providing effective and timely feedback.

• Recognizing the right person, for the right contribution, at the right time.

• Addressing conflict and uncooperative behavior.

• Creating psychological safety so employees can express their views.

• Translating cultural values into specific management behaviors.

Through this stage, Lead-UP Academy seeks to emphasize the role of direct managers in shaping the employee experience and maintaining organizational engagement.

Stage 5: Management in the Age of AI and Volatility

AI, automation, and continuous market disruption are transforming the way businesses operate.

In the final stage, the series explores:

• How is AI changing the role of managers?

• Which tasks can be supported or replaced by technology?

• What capabilities do managers need to develop in the age of AI?

• How can data be used to improve decision-making?

• How should managers lead teams through change?

• How can organizations balance technology, performance, and the human dimension?

Rather than viewing AI solely as a technical tool, Stage 5 approaches it as a factor that directly affects leadership capability, job design, and methods of collaboration within organizations.

A Short Journey in Duration, but Extensive in Practical Value

Each video lasts approximately 90 seconds, yet it forms part of a coherent and progressively connected content structure.

Lead-UP Academy expects the series to become a concise reference resource for:

• Business leaders.

• Middle management teams.

• High-potential employees and newly appointed managers.

• Human Resources and L&D professionals.

• Individuals preparing to assume management responsibilities.

Through each situation, viewers can compare the content with their own realities, reflect on how they currently manage their teams, and identify an appropriate action for improvement.
