“Personal Development – Confidence for Career Success” Training Program for Students of the Faculty of International Studies – Hue University

Immediately after the signing ceremony between Lead-UP Academy and the Faculty of International Studies – Hue University, the training program “Personal Development – Confidence for Career Success” was delivered to nearly 100 students. This program is part of the collaboration aimed at enhancing career readiness and helping students build a strong personal foundation in an increasingly competitive job market.

The session was conducted by expert Pham To Hoai, using practical, experience-based learning content designed specifically for students preparing to enter the next stage of their academic and professional journey.

Understanding Yourself – The First Step Toward Growth

The program began with the concept of self-awareness, encouraging students to explore their personality traits, strengths, core values, and motivations. The expert emphasized that every career decision must begin with understanding oneself—knowing what you’re good at, what matters to you, and what you aim to achieve.

Through guided reflection, group activities, and open discussions, students revisited their learning journey, identified what they do best, and clarified what they truly want to pursue. This process laid a strong foundation for developing confidence and shaping their personal identity in the job market.

Career Development – A Clear Mindset and Roadmap

A major part of the session focused on career orientation and planning.
Key topics included:

  • Growth mindset and continuous learning

  • Setting SMART goals

  • Building a phased career roadmap

  • Understanding the core competencies employers look for

  • Insights into labor market shifts and emerging opportunities

Students learned how to craft a personalized development strategy, maintain momentum, and follow an intentional path toward long-term growth.

Job Application Skills – Essential Tools for Confident Career Entry

A highly practical section of the program centered on job-application skills, including:

  • Writing clear, concise, and impactful CVs and résumés

  • Crafting effective cover letters

  • Searching for job opportunities through multiple channels

  • Preparing for and performing well in interviews

  • Common mistakes to avoid during the job application process

With concrete examples and interview simulations, students gained clarity on how to present themselves, communicate their strengths, and create a positive impression with recruiters.

Personal Branding – Building One’s Professional Identity

Based on the “Personal Branding” segment of the slide deck, the session also guided students in cultivating a strong personal brand—not only through online presence but through mindset, behavior, professionalism, and consistent long-term growth.

Students learned to define their core values, build a credible professional image, and express their unique identity through their interactions, work ethic, and learning approach.

Inspiration for a Confident Start

By the end of the session, many students shared that the program helped them clarify their goals, better understand themselves, and feel more confident stepping into the world of work.

The active participation, honest questions, and enthusiastic discussions created an engaging atmosphere and highlighted the students’ readiness to embrace future challenges.
